Advanced Level Apprenticeship Training

 

Did you know…

Since 2003 Academy Canada has trained over 80 Apprentices in the advanced Welder program with over 15 receiving IP certification.

Since 2004 Academy Canada has trained over 100 Apprentices in the advanced C/I Electrical program.

Academy Canada now is offering blocks 2, 3 and 4 in the C/I Electrical program with our first group of block 4’s finishing and doing their IP exam on March 31st, 2006.

Since 2003 Academy Canada has trained many Automotive Service Technician Apprentices with our first group doing their IP exam in the next month.

Since 2003 Academy Canada, (Corner Brook Campus only) has trained over 60 Apprentices in advanced and Trade Qualifier Carpenter programs.

In January 2006 Academy Canada (Corner Brook Campus only) had its first class of advanced Cooks

Since 2004 Academy Canada has trained over 40 direct entry Apprentices in the entry-level programs.

In the near future…

Academy Canada is looking forward to offering our Steamfitter/Pipefitter and Cook graduates the opportunity to do Advanced Level training at the St. John’s Campus.


Advanced Apprenticeship Training

Apprenticeship is an industry-based program involving an agreement between a person who wants to learn a set of occupational skills, an apprentice, and an employer who needs a skilled worker. Apprenticeship is a proven training system that combines on-the-job experiential learning with technical training to produce a qualified and certified journeyperson. Academy Canada currently offers Apprenticeship training in the following trades:

Automotive Service Technician
Carpenter
Construction Electrician
Cook
Hairstylist
Insulator (Heat and Frost)
Plumber
Steamfitter/Pipefitter
Welder

Direct Entry Training
Academy Canada offers training for individuals who have no formal schooling relevant to their occupation but are registered with the Institutional and Industrial Trades Division of the Department of Education as apprentices. Direct Entry training is available in:

Automotive Service Technician
Carpenter
Construction/Industrial Electrician
Cook
Hairstylist
Insulator (Heat and Frost)
Plumber
Sheet Metal Worker
Steamfitter/Pipefitter
Welder

Trade Qualifier Training
Academy Canada offers a comprehensive Journeyperson preparation review program for individuals who have been working in a trade and have challenged the journeyperson certification exam. Individuals will receive training at a state of the art facility with qualified and dedicated instructors. Trade Qualifier training is currently offered in:

Automotive Service Technician
Carpenter
Construction Electrician
Cook
Welder

Hairstylist/Journeyperson Preparation
Academy Canada offers training for Hairstylists who have a minimum of 4000-6000 hours of suitable work experience in their field and are interested in challenging the journeyperson examination. This 4-week refresher program consists of both practical and theory components needed to prepare students for their journeyperson certification.
