Duration: 4 semesters plus 4 week work term
Program Description
The Hospitality and Resort Operations program will immerse students into one of the most dynamic fast-paced industries on the planet. The program prepares students to work in various sectors of the tourism and hospitality industry. Students are exposed to tourist activities and the many opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry. The program provides exposure to all aspects of the industry including world cultures, wines and cuisines, restaurant and food service management, special events planning, etc .

Employment Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Hospitality and Resort Operations program, graduates are eligible to work in a variety of tourism and hospitality related occupations and are well prepared with the combined study of tourism and hospitality courses as well as customer service and professionalism. Graduates may be eligible (depending on specific hiring practices) for employment in all fields of tourism and hospitality promotion and planning.
Entrance Requirements
High School Graduates or Equivalent
High School Graduates or equivalent are eligible for admission to the Hospitality and Resort Operations Program. Students must complete an application form and provide a copy of High School, Adult Basic Education, or G.E.D. results. Under certain circumstances students who do not meet the formal high school requirements may be accepted upon the recommendation of the Guidance Counsellor or High School Principal. Mature Students
Mature students are eligible for admission to the Hospitality and Resort Operations Program. These students must be at least 19 years of age, complete an application form, provide a copy of recent marks, and write a Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) as arranged by Academy Canada.
