"Hairstylist" Instructor

Academy Canada’s St. John’s campus requires an instructor for Hairstylist program.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• Red Seal Hairstylist certificate
• Six years combined experience and education
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
• A desire to work in a team environment

Administrative Staff Positions

Curriculum Consultant

Location: St. John’s campus, with travel between St. John’s and Corner Brook.
Term: One year full time contract, with possibility of extension.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Academy Canada to provide quality education and training to all of its students in a learning environment that is both supportive of the needs of the whole student and academically sound in both content and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, the Curriculum Consultant will provide leadership in accreditation initiatives
• Maintain all accreditation information and standards
• Explore accreditation opportunities; coordinate activities that sustain accreditation
• Perform gap analyses
• Work with accreditation bodies
• Prepare comprehensive reports and facilitate site visits.

This role will be responsible for campus support in the form of sharing knowledge in the areas of accreditation, teaching, learning, curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.

The Curriculum Consultant will develop industry partnerships, conduct academic program reviews in consultation with stakeholders, register changes with regulating bodies and effectively communicate changes to stakeholders.

Curriculum Consultant Requirements

• Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Education, credentials in Adult Education preferred.
• Teaching experience, preferably with adult learners.
• In-depth knowledge of accreditation, instructional design and curriculum development.
• Project management skills, able to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical report-writing skills.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office.
• Superior interpersonal skills including strong consultative skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with faculty and staff from a variety of backgrounds in a professional and collaborative manner.
• Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
