ACADEMY CANADA AND LAWRENCE COLLEGE JOIN FORCES

(Date Published: August 1, 2005)

Academy Canada is pleased to announce that Lawrence College is joining forces with Academy Canada to offer a stronger education experience to the post-secondary students.

Academy Canada and Lawrence College have enjoyed a history of mutual cooperation through their memberships in the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and its provincial branch Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Career Colleges (NLACC). The Principals of both Academy Canada and Lawrence College have served on the Executives of both organizations. As well, both colleges are accredited by the Canadian Education and Training Accreditation Commission (CETAC), which sets national standards for post-secondary education.

Although programs previously offered at Lawrence College will now be administered by Academy Canada at its Kenmount Road campus, there will be no change in curriculum. Students who have applied for admission to Lawrence College for September 2005 are advised that, while the location of their program has changed, the terms of their admission remain the same, and they can continue to receive administrative support from Lawrence College staff.

The following programs are the programs that were offered by Lawrence College that will now be offered at the St. John’s, Kenmount Road campus.

  • Dental Receptionist
  • Early Childhood Education (1 Year Diploma)
  • Early Childhood Education (2 Year Diploma)
  • Interior Decorating
  • Photographic Studies
