Fourth Year Nursing Students Provide “Effects of Smoking” Seminar to Kenmount Road Campus Staff and Students

On November 28, 2011, the Kenmount Road Campus had three fourth year Nursing Students from the Centre for Nursing Studies completing their “Community Health Nursing Practice” clinical course.

Nursing students Dianna Letemplier, Miranda Abbott, and Sonia Blundell provided students and staff with an information session about Effects of Smoking, including information to help those interested in quitting smoking.

Dianna, Miranda and Sonia also provided students and staff an opportunity to have their blood pressures checked.

Academy Canada Community Nominated for 2011 Corner Brook Sustainability Awards

Academy Canada Career College is pleased to announce that we are nominated for the 2011 Corner Brook Sustainability Awards for "Excellence in Business", "Community Impact", "Customer Service", and "Innovation" categories.

Our Webmaster, Jack Barrett (listed as Jackie Barrett), is also nominated for the "Male Athlete Award" category.

Corner Brook Sustainability Awards winners will be announced on May 18, 2011.


Ronald McDonald House Cheque Presentation

Kenmount Road Campus Business Administration students raised money for Ronald McDonald House. Over $4,400 was raised through a bake sale, hockey tournament, bowling tournament and penny wars involving an entire campus.

Kenmount Road Campus Sledge Hockey

At Fieldian Gardens, some of our staff and students took part in a Sledge Hockey Game against Newfoundland’s Senior Sledge Hockey team.
