CSI Fabricators Limited (CSI) have been in the steel industry since 1992. They are a 100% Newfoundland and Labrador owned and operated company located at 9 St. Anne's Crescent, St. Anne's Industrial Park, Paradise, NL just off Topsail Road. They currently have 8 office staff, combined with 20-25 shop personnel fabricating approximately 2000 imperial tons of structural steel and miscellaneous metals annually for both the commercial and industrial sector. Recovering Addicts Fellowship Team (RAFT)Recovering Addicts Fellowship Team, or RAFT for short, is a non-profit organization assisting substance abuse victims rehabilitate into the community and help prevent further abuse. For many individuals with addictions, the most difficult aspect of recovery is learning to socialize and enjoy life in a healthy environment. An addiction is at the center of every activity, and thus becomes the main focus of daily life. RAFT aims to provide the recovering addict with alternative social activities. Recovering addicts participating in RAFT activities assist their peers to recover and build confidence in their abilities to realize healthy social lives without the crutch of addiction. Academy Canada is proud to have provided a work term student and employee, Sheri-Lynn Bussey, from the Criminology program take a leadership role with RAFT. Academy Canada was pleased to host the OSCO Construction Group at the Harding Road and Kenmount Road campuses as they conduct their Newfoundland and Labrador employee recruitment drive. Based in Saint John, New Brunswick, OSCO Construction Group is a collection of concrete, steel, and construction based companies specializing in steel fabrication and precast concrete production, and perform specialty construction projects for commercial, industrial, retail, and public sectors. In business since 1955, they serve a variety of markets throughout Atlantic Canada, Eastern United States, and the Caribbean. Recognized as a leader in their field, OSCO Construction Group makes an outstanding Preferred Employer for Academy Canada and its students. OSCO Construction Group hires a variety of individuals in highly professional and industrial trades fields including Information Technology, Skilled Industrial and Construction Trades, Computer Aided Drafting professionals, Business, and Office Administration. According to Ms. Yarnall, Academy Canada students make excellent candidates for their company. She was very pleased with their skill sets and their high professionalism level they presented themselves during their visit. Additional College credentials such as the Welding Program's Provincial Apprenticeship Board accreditation and the College's accreditation through the Canadian Education and Training Accreditation Commission, or CETAC, were also key selling points for Celine, as well as other national employers looking to hire Academy Canada graduates.
