Charlene Blake | Administrative Assistant
Charlene is a recent graduate of Academy Canada’s Office Administration Technology program. Her friendly and professional approach is complimented by past experience working in the retail industry.
Colin Burridge | Principal
Colin has worked in various roles with Academy Canada for 17 years at both the campus and Head Office levels. He has an IT background, 8 years teaching experience in a post-secondary environment, and is a former Vice Principal. Colin is also a certified Nonviolent Crisis Intervention trainer.
Mindy Finlay | Vice Principal
Mindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Allison University, as well as Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Secondary) and Master of Education (Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Studies) degrees from Memorial University. Equipped with that knowledge, she primarily taught high school Chemistry and Science in Newfoundland and Labrador, namely in the former Eastern, Labrador and Western School Districts over the past decade.
Rose Hatcher | Acting Registrar
Rose is a former Academy Canada Office Administration graduate and has worked with the college for the past 2 years. During this time she has worked as Administrative Assistant and now as Registrar. Rose is always involved in the planning of and participating in our many successful campus events scheduled throughout the year including the Children’s Halloween, Christmas, and Easter parties.
Suzanne Jordan | Apprenticeship/Employment Coordinator
Suzanne graduated from Academy Canada in 1999 with the Office Administration Technology (Legal, Medical, and Engineering) Diploma. As part of her role, she notifies students/graduates of employment opportunities through the College Alumni Chapter, and manages all student Workterms and Practicums. She works closely with the Division of Industrial Training, Department of Education, Industry, and Apprenticeships across Canada. She also arranges all advanced training classes for both the St. John's and Corner Brook campuses.
Doug Osmond | Facilities Manager
Prior to moving into his role as Facilities Manager, Doug had over 10 years work experience as Computer Lab Demonstrator and Software Applications Instructor with Academy Canada. Doug also holds the position of Occupational Health and Safety Committee Co-Chair, Employer and Certified Trainer. He is also a WHMIS Certified Trainer. Doug holds a Microcomputer Applications Diploma from Academy Canada.
Allison Rowe | Curriculum Coordinator
Allison has been with Academy Canada since August 2012 and brings with her nearly 20 years’ professional experience, including Director of Student Services for the Humber Education Alliance International Student Centre. Allison has represented Academy Canada as well as other educational institutions on international recruitment missions. She taught English as a Second Language overseas as well as developing curriculum for language learning software. Additionally, Allison has a strong program management and coordinating background acquired while working in such varied places as the Japanese Delegation to the OECD in Paris or McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consulting firm, in Montreal.

Brittany Trimm | Administrative Assistant (On Leave)
Brittany joined the Academy Canada team in 2012 and brings with her a Diploma of Office Administration, Executive as well as a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Her skillset is complimented through past experience as an Executive Office Assistant for several different firms as well as an In-Home Child Care Provider and a Teacher’s Assistant.
Anita Abbott | Principal
Anita joined the Academy Canada Staff in 2007 and as worked as both Student Support Coordinator and Vice Principal. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in Adult Teacher Education from Memorial University with 5 years teaching experience in an Adult Basic Education program.
Neil Bolt | IT Manager
Neil began working with Academy Canada in 2001 and entered the role of Information Technology Manager in 2010. He has more than a decade of experience in computer/network support and management and has worked in various roles throughout the years. Neil also has several years of experience as a post-secondary Instructor. As the Information Technology Manger Neil is responsible for the overall management of Academy Canada’s technology infrastructure and is presently located at the Kenmount Road campus.
Sarah Browning | Administrative Assistant
Sarah graduated from Academy Canada’s Office Administration Technology (Medical, Dental, Legal, Engineering) program at our Corner Brook Campus in September 2011. Sarah was hired as the Kenmount Road Campus Administrative Assistant in March 2012 and is a great addition to our Administrative Support team.
Ashley Dalley | Employment Coordinator
Recent graduate of the Human Resources and Industrial Relations program at Saint Mary’s University. Ashley had the opportunity to complete her internship at the University as the Human Resources Student Assistant. Ashley also has a minor in psychology and a certificate in Human Resources management.
Robyn Foley | Admissions Officer (On Leave)
Robyn has a wealth of knowledge and experience from working with the Western School District. Robyn has held such positions as School Principal, School Administrator and teacher.
Tammy Fry | Business Officer
Tammy joined Academy Canada in 2004 with an Office Administration Technology Diploma with business office experience in the field. She is also a graduate of Academy Canada's Office Administration Technology Program.
Brian Galway | Curriculum Coordinator
Mr. Galway has 30 years experience as an educator within Newfoundland and Labrador. His roles included Classroom Teacher, Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Associate Assistant Director with the Avalon East School Board. Mr. Galway holds the following degrees: Masters of Education, Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts. Mr. Galway also has made significant contributions to post secondary education in his roles as Coordinator Regulatory Compliance, Program Development Coordinator and Academic Administrator for Eastern College.
Jackie Morry | Adult Basic Education Instructor and ABE Curriculum Coordinator
Jackie began teaching the Adult Basic Education program in 1996. She has a degree in Biology, and a degree in Education, both received from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Rodney Oliver | Network Administrator and Computer Technician
Rodney graduated in 2008 from Academy Canada's Computer Support Specialist program. Rodney joined the Academy Canada Staff in October 2012 as the IT Support person.
Stephanie Nash Pearce | Vice Principal
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta, and Master of Education in Educational Leadership Studies from Memorial University. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position.

Angela Powers | Student Financial Officer
Angela has a Business Administration Diploma and Marketing Certificate from College of the North Atlantic. Angela has several years experience in the retail industry.
Judy Shields | Registrar and ABE Administrator
Judy joined us in 2005 as an Instructor for the Photographic Studies program, and now holds the Registrar position. She is a graduate from such programs as Accounting and Advanced Photographic program at the College of the North Atlantic, and has a 3rd level CGA Designation. She has been a practicing Photographer for 20 years, and co-owner/operator of Photographic Services/All Occasion Video and Photography.
Patricia Trahey | Admissions Assistant
Patricia first came to Academy Canada in 2004 as a student in our Business Technology program. She joined our Administrative Team in 2008, and brings her wealth of administrative, management, and business owner experience.
Julie Yetman | Student Support Coordinator
Julie joined our instructional staff as a Criminology Instructor in 1997, and our Administrative staff as a Student Support Coordinator in 2006. She has completed over 6 years at Memorial University of Newfoundland obtaining a BA with a major in Women's Studies, completed several courses in the areas of Psychology, Education, and Social Work. She possesses a BA in Sociology, a Certificate in Criminology, as well as a Certificate in Adult Education.
Steven Browne | Principal
Steve joined the Academy Canada staff in 2009 and held the position of Campus Program Coordinator before the Vice Principal role. Steve has a Bachelor of Education degree with a strong teaching background and 23 years of management experience.
Gayle Foley | Vice Principal
Gayle joined the Academy Canada staff in 2008 as the campus Registrar. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Education (Post–Secondary Studies) Degree with many years experience in her field.
Paul Henderson | Facilities Manager
Paul has been with Academy Canada since 2008. He started as a Related Training instructor but in 2009 became the campus Facilities Manager. Paul has over 12 years managerial experience in various capacities, and over 15 years experience in computer technology as well as A+ Certification.

James Loder | Community Relations Director
Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources), Counsellor Training, and 11 years experience as college administrator with 3 years experience as Career Counsellor. Past Vice-President of the Clarenville and Mount Pearl Chambers of Commerce as well as a current member of the Executive Committee for the National Association of Career Colleges, and the NL Association of Career Colleges.
Lisa Lovelady | Curriculum Manager
Lisa started with Academy Canada in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science (Honours), a Bachelor of Education and is working towards her Master of Education Degree. She has 5 years teaching experience at the secondary level and 4 years administrative experience at the post-secondary level.
Heather Nugent | Registrar
Graduating from Academy Canada¹s Business Administration program in 2006, Heather has worked with Academy Canada since July 2010 as Administrative Assistant and in the Business office before accepting a position as registrar in March 2011. Heather loves the great outdoors and enjoys walking, camping, and fishing with her puppy Boo.
