Esthetics and Spa Management
Duration: 4 semesters plus 6 week work term
Program Description
The Esthetics and Spa Management program was developed by the National Association of Career Colleges and meets or exceeds national standards. The program also incorporates the latest in spa treatments and spa customer services and sales. The profession of esthetics is one of the fastest growing personal service industries in North America today. The esthetics professional trains and provides personal services in many areas including skin care, nutrition, nail art and design, aromatherapy, pedicures and body sugaring which help clients of all ages look and feel good about themselves. It is a highly personal service and an exciting, rewarding career because of the variety of services given to clients during a typical day. Estheticians provide clients with an opportunity to enhance their total physical and emotional care that is so important in today’s high stress society. Other related training includes: Salon Business Management, Business Communications, Selling of Products and Services, and Employment Portfolio.

Upon successful completion of the Esthetics and Spa Management program graduates will be eligible to seek employment as estheticians or make-up artists in skin care clinics, day spas, resorts, on cruise ships, in television, as sales representatives of skin care products and equipment, as providers of personal grooming services, or as entrepreneurs.
Entrance Requirements
High School Graduates or Equivalent
High School Graduates or equivalent are eligible for admission to the Esthetics and Spa Management program. Students must complete an application form and provide a copy of High School, Adult Basic Education, or G.E.D. results. Under certain circumstances students who do not meet the formal High School requirements may be accepted upon the recommendation of a High School Principal or Guidance Counsellor. Mature Students
Mature students are eligible for admission to the Esthetics and Spa Management program. These students must be 19 years of age or older, complete an application form, provide a copy of most recent marks, and write a Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) as arranged by Academy Canada.
