Duration: 3 semesters plus 4 week work term
Program Description
The Office Administration (General Studies) program prepares students to have a working knowledge of any modern office setting. The ability to communicate both orally and in written form gives a graduate the edge in this competitive field. This program prepares students to work in the most current application packages. These, along with the introduction to accounting software, offers any student the training to become a successful office assistant.

Upgrading Skills
Upon completion of Office Administration (General Studies), skills upgrading may be available in the areas of medical, dental, legal and engineering. Students may also continue their studies with specialized training in the Office Administration Technology (Medical, Dental, Legal, Engineering).
Employment Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Office Administration (General Studies) program, graduates may be eligible for employment (depending on specific hiring practices) within many different office environments. The skills attained will provide opportunities for employment as receptionists, office clerks, bookkeepers, word processing operators, front office assistants, and records management clerks.
Entrance Requirements
High School Graduates or Equivalent
High School Graduates or equivalent are eligible for admission to the Office Administration (General Studies) program. Students must complete an application form and provide a copy of High School, Adult Basic Education, or G.E.D results. Under certain circumstances students who do not meet the formal High School requirements may be accepted upon the recommendation of a High School Principal or Guidance Counsellor. Mature Students
Mature students are eligible for admission to the Office Administration (General Studies) program. These students must be 19 years of age or older, complete an application form, provide a copy of most recent marks, and write a Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) as arranged by Academy Canada.
