The Multimedia Graphic Design program prepares students to work with solid design concepts. Students take their ideas into full production using computers equipped with the industry current graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress and Adobe Photoshop. Multimedia is the next step for the graphic design industry. This program brings together “all media” into one format. Multimedia allows the student to create the interactive visuals essential in today’s digital advertising. Students create a wide range of materials including webpages that showcase their creativity and ability to communicate with impact. All graduates in the program complete a portfolio showcasing their talents and abilities to enhance student training and employability.
Upon successful completion of the Multimedia Graphic Design program, graduates may be eligible for employment (depending on specific hiring practices) with graphic design, Web page design, computer animation, computer modeling, digital video editing, advertising design, desktop publishing, publication and magazines, and graphic arts for corporate communications (annual reports, corporate newsletters, logos, etc.) The skills and knowledge acquired through the application of Multimedia Graphic Design allow graduates to perform to current industry standards. Employment opportunities will be appropriate in organizations whose main responsibility is production of Graphic Arts and Internet Advertising through computerized/or traditional means. Self-employment opportunities may also exist.
