In the near future…Academy Canada is looking forward to offering our Steamfitter/Pipefitter and Cook graduates the opportunity to do Advanced Level training at the St. John’s Campus. Advanced Apprenticeship TrainingApprenticeship is an industry-based program involving an agreement between a person who wants to learn a set of occupational skills, an apprentice, and an employer who needs a skilled worker. Apprenticeship is a proven training system that combines on-the-job experiential learning with technical training to produce a qualified and certified journeyperson. Academy Canada currently offers Apprenticeship training in the following trades:
Direct Entry TrainingAcademy Canada offers training for individuals who have no formal schooling relevant to their occupation but are registered with the Institutional and Industrial Trades Division of the Department of Education as apprentices. Direct Entry training is available in:
Trade Qualifier TrainingAcademy Canada offers a comprehensive Journeyperson preparation review program for individuals who have been working in a trade and have challenged the journeyperson certification exam. Individuals will receive training at a state of the art facility with qualified and dedicated instructors. Trade Qualifier training is currently offered in:
Hairstylist/Journeyperson PreparationAcademy Canada offers training for Hairstylists who have a minimum of 4000-6000 hours of suitable work experience in their field and are interested in challenging the journeyperson examination. This 4-week refresher program consists of both practical and theory components needed to prepare students for their journeyperson certification.
