Fees & ChargesA $30 non-refundable processing fee must accompany your application in order for it to be considered. The processing fee will not be refunded for programs cancelled but will be transferred to another semester or program for a one year period. Your books will go on sale the first week of each semester/block. We recommend that you purchase books promptly as they may not be available after the first week of the new semester/block. Only new students whose loans have been delayed and are in good financial standing will be eligible to request textbooks and supplies on credit. Various trades programs require that you purchase specific clothing and materials. Please contact an Admissions Officer for details. PLAR -- Academy Canada's Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition process will give adults the opportunity to document or demonstrate that they have achieved in excess of 70% of the objectives of a given course. This is a comprehensive, systematic process of evaluation that starts when you submit an application for PLAR along with an assessment fee of $50.00 to the Registrar's Office. The Registrar in consultation with the campus administrator will arrange for a qualified person in the respective competency to conduct the assessment. Re-reads refer to an opportunity to have an evaluation re-assessed. Request forms are available through the Registrar's office. Each re-read will cost $20; this charge will be credited to the student's account or refunded to the student only should the mark increase. Supplementary Examinations: A non-refundable fee of $20 per exam is required and must be paid before the examination is written. A "Request to Defer Payment of Supplementary Exam Fee" application is available through the campus business office. A $30.00 processing fee is charged for release of CAAT Test results to another training institution. There is no fee applicable to transfer CAAT test results from one application to Academy Canada or another application to Academy Canada. A $2.00 processing fee is charged for each additional copy of the Official Transcript of marks. The original Official Transcript is issue free of charge, provided all accounts with the Business Office is settled. |
