With 2 year diploma programs in Criminology and Paralegal Studies and a 1 year diploma program in Law Enforcement Foundations, we have a career path to suit every interest and aptitude. While our program offers hands-on real-world training from experienced Instructors each has something unique to offer.
Criminology students receive training in specialized areas of psychology, sociology, human behavior as well as self defense and security. You will completed the 45+ courses in order to gain an understand of the nature and causes of crime, criminal behavior and the criminal justice system. As graduates, you use this knowledge to create community programs, support law enforcement counsel offenders and guide at-risk youth.
Law Enforcement Foundations students complete a wide range of classes that emphasize the humanistic and preventative side of law enforcement and security administration. You will study public and private policing, forensics, loss prevention, security systems and management, corrections and psychology as well as industrial, institutional and retail security. Students also study the Canadian legal system, trial procedures and criminal deviant behavior.
Paralegal Studies program prepares graduates to work as support staff within a legal office, court or justice office. Students receive practical training in Canadian Law and a wide range of specialty areas related to law, including contracts, criminal actions, tort, debt collection, employment, real estate and many others. Working under the supervision of a professional lawyer, you will learn to interview clients, conduct legal research, prepare documents and help the legal team prepare for trial.
