"Wild Things" - Cashier

"Wild Things" is looking for talented and motivated individuals interested in working in both the retail and hospitality industries.

They functions as a gift shop occupying the same building as Wildland Tours; staff at Wild Things are trained to sell Wildland Tours products in addition to retail merchandise.

Selected applicants will work at "Wild Things" as a cashier; enthusiastically greeting customers when they enter and exit, aiding customers in making their purchases, working a cash register and making change, answering the questions of clients both in store and over the phone, keeping work spaces and displays clean and inviting, managing inventory, memorizing catalogues of available tours, and promoting tourism within the province are some of the key tasks that will comprise this position.

Must be quick thinking and dependable to work in this fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of downtown St. John’s, the surrounding area, and/or the province, as well the ability to speak languages other than and including English are assets.

Flexible work reliant on the seasonal nature of the Tourism Industry.

Hours, availability, and rates of pay will be discussed with applicants who are contacted for an interview.

Training will be provided once applicants have passed the interview stage.

Whether assisting our passengers at airport counters or gate locations, our Customer Sales and Service Agents play an important role in ensuring that our flights are ready for a secure and on-time departure.

This is a temporary, full-time, position which guarantees 40 hours per week.

Wages are $14.00 per hour.

"Customer Service and Sales Agent" Description:

  • Assist customers with their inquiries.
  • Conduct passenger check-in.
  • Prepare and issue tickets and boarding passes.
  • Assist pre-boarding passengers and provide information on flight schedules and routes.
  • Act as Ground Hosts and Hostesses.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Strong customer focus gained through previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Proven problem resolution skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Accustomed to working within strict timelines in order to maintain on-time departures while ensuring Safety First at all times.

Scheduling Adherence:

  • Available for shift work - early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Be willing to undergo and successfully pass a two (2) to four (4) weeks full-time training (attendance is mandatory).

Conditions of Employment:

  • High school diploma or academic equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Candidates must also pass security clearance and obtain the Transport Canada security card (MOT). (To obtain this security clearance, candidates must undergo a thorough criminal background search, please see Transport Canada website for additional details).

Linguistics Requirements:

  • This position requires bilingualism. Priority will be given to candidates completely fluent in English and French.

Create Learning Centres - Part Time Tutors

NEED A PART-TIME JOB WHILE ATTENDING SCHOOL??
Become a Tutor with Creative Learning Centre.

Creative Learning Centre are now recruiting part time tutors with after school program for primary level students homework and enrichment support.

Applicants must have Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check, and currently enrolled in a post secondary program.

Hours are primarily 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with some flexibility, and 15 to 20 hrs a week.

Wages start at $15.00 per hour.

French Tutor for primary students - Kindergarten and grade 1 to provide homework support.

Instructor - to work with students between Grades 4 and 6 for homework support, test preparation, and Arts and Crafts instruction.
