Academy Canada Director Meets Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) Minister Diane Finley

Posted March 18, 2013

From March 14, 2013 to March 17, 2013, Academy Canada Director, James Loder, attended the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) meetings in Ottawa.

James currently serves as NACC's President. This organization represents the interests of student, faculty, and staff from over 500 colleges from every province.

While in Ottawa, James had the opportunity to meet with HRSDC Minister, Diane Finley, as well as representatives from Treasury Board, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, Student Aid, Canadian Bureau for International Education, and even an Ambassador from the United Arab Emirates.

James was pleased to speak about the role of career colleges in Canada as well as their importance in the national education system. During our meetings, we lobbied particularly hard for greater access to Student Aid grants as well as more federal government sponsorship funding availability.
