Therapeutic Recreation Students Host Successful "Coffee Break"

Therapeutic Recreation Students Host Successful "Coffee Break"

Posted October 3, 2011

On September 27, 2011, Therapeutic Recreation students along with their instructor, Joanne Bennett, hosted a “Coffee Break” to raise money for the Alzheimer Society.

Coffee Break is the Alzheimer Society's major nationwide annual fundraiser where friends, co-workers, and customers gather in communities across Canada to raise funds for local Alzheimer Societies. Participants at these events make a donation in exchange for a cup of coffee. The money raised stays in our province to help support local programs and services.

From 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, they served coffee, cupcakes, and cookies in exchange for a donation to the Alzheimer Society. $104.20 was raised during this fundraising event.

Thank you to the Therapeutic Recreation class for organizing this coffee break.
