Business Administration Graduate, Melissa Woods, became a Social Entrepreneur to help Corner Brook area residents with disabilities gain more social inclusion in the community.

When Easter Seals and Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) pulled out of the Corner Brook area a few years ago, many persons with disabilities were isolated due to a lack of programs and services in their community.

Melissa started an organization called Active Living NL West to honour a promise to her mom to bring more social inclusion to Corner Brookers with disabilities, and help narrow the service gaps they face.

Her studies at Academy Canada’s Business Administration program along with assistance from Navigate Centre at Grenfell Campus – Memorial University helps Melissa to turn her social inclusion dreams into reality.

Congratulations, Melissa!!!
