Allan Gillespie Memorial Scholarship
Academy Canada lost a good friend and family member on April 24, 2022 with the passing of Allan “Al” James Gillespie.
Al had a very successful career as a heavy equipment salesperson and was also the Mayor of the Town of Massey Drive up to the time of his passing. He was, however, most proud of his family.
Through his work, Al built countless relationships with customers, contacts, and friends yet always thought about going back to school to pursue an education in Business.
The Allan J. Gillespie Memorial Scholarship Fund is a legacy arranged by his loving family; wife Sandra, sons Blake and Brandon, and daughter-in-law Stacey. This fund annually recognizes Academy Canada’s Business Administration student in honour of Al’s career and love for the work.

Graham Blundon Outstanding Instructor Award
Mr. Colin Burridge, Corner Brook Campus Principal, presented the Graham Blundon Outstanding Instructor Award.
This award is presented annually in memory of Graham Blundon – a great friend, teacher, mentor and supporter of Academy Canada. This award recognizes the exceptional commitment of the instructors who strive to ensure the success of their students.
This is awarded to an instructor exemplifying leadership, compassion, student and school involvement and extra-curricular commitment.
This year’s recipient is Krista Head, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist Instructor.

President’s Award
The President’s Award is Academy Canada’s highest honour awarded to one student from each graduating year who reflects the ideals we strive to instill in our graduates including leadership, professionalism, positive attitude, good overall average and a willingness to participate in school activities.
Staff members provide recommendations to Academy Canada’s President, Ms. Lisa Lovelady, who selects a recipient. A difficult decision to make as several students were deserving of this award.
