Letter from the President

Dear Academy Canada Community,

It is an honour to step into the role of President and CEO of Academy Canada. I do this with confidence because of our strong foundation of excellence and because of the work we are doing every day. Since 1985 we have helped over 40,000 graduates develop work-ready skills and we joyfully celebrate their career success. I feel incredibly fortunate to have dedicated almost 20 years of my own career working alongside our outstanding team of instructors and support staff who care so deeply about our students.

At Academy Canada, we are committed to developing a world-class workforce by building a diverse, inclusive, and energized community of applied learning. Through innovation and continuous improvement, we connect with, educate, and inspire learners to dream big and excel in their chosen fields.

In the years to come, we will:

• Strengthen our position as a collaborative, industry-aligned, research-informed college;
• Continue to “walk the talk” on reconciliation, accessibility, inclusion, and diversity;
• Expand opportunities for lifelong learning and career development;
• Embrace ethical technological integration to assist student-centred learning;
• Keep students at the center of everything we do.

I am proud to lead a team that embodies our values—passion for education, integrity, respect, teamwork, communication, balance, and a shared commitment to excellence. These values inform how we show up for our students, for each other, and for the communities we serve.

I look forward to continued engagement with students, staff, and partners across Newfoundland and Labrador—and to leading Academy Canada into its next chapter with pride, purpose, and unshakeable optimism.
