Corner Brook Campus – Convocation 2019
On June 7, 2019, University Drive campus students and staff attended Academy Canada’s Annual Convocation Ceremony at the Arts and Culture Centre in Corner Brook. The auditorium was full with family, friends, special guests, and our graduating students.
Mr. Colin Burridge, Principal, and Mr. Steve LeDrew, Program Coordinator, co-emceed the event. Several speakers included Mr. Carl Barrett, Head Office Representative, Ms. Serina McKinnon, former Criminology graduate and Guest Speaker, and Mrs. Glenys Park, School Valedictorian and graduate from the Home Support/Personal Care Attendant program.
It was an exciting day as graduates were acknowledged for their outstanding work and accomplishments.

Graham Blundon Outstanding Instructor Awards
Each year, the Academy Canada, Corner Brook Campus, presents the Graham Blundon Outstanding Instructor Award.
This award recognizes an instructor’s exceptional commitment and strive to ensure the success of their students.
This year’s Graham Blundon Outstanding Instructor Award winner is Linda Corbett.
Linda is one of our Office Administration Technology instructors as well as a first instructor to have won this award twice.
Regarded as a great mentor, she is a great mentor to our students and shows her many positive qualities each day.

President’s Award
The President’s Award is bestowed to the student who displays the values that Academy Canada would like to encourage in all students.
These values include leadership, professionalism, good academic standing, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of school spirit.
Teachers nominate their students through a written submission, and then forwarded to the Academy Canada’s President, Mr. Michael Barrett.
A selection is made and the winner is announced each year at Convocation.
Being nominated for this award is an outstanding achievement in itself.
This year’s winner is Business Administration graduate, Sheri Fiander.
