Early Childhood Education Student Spotlight
Happy Early Childhood Education Week!
Early Childhood Education week is celebrated annually in May. Research in child development supports the value and importance of Early Childhood Education in society, and this week acknowledges the contributions made by Early Childhood Educators in Newfoundland and Labrador. To celebrate the occasion, Academy Canada is spotlighting some current ECE students and sharing what they love about their field.
Meet Victoria B.
Carla is a first-year ECE student from Baie Verte, NL. Shedidn’t know she had a passion for working with children until she had her own and spent time volunteering atschool and in her community. She enjoys being creative and providing fun, wholesome activities, and opportunities for the children to learn and develop. In her free time, she enjoys exploring outdoors with her family and volunteering with her local Girl Guide Unit – she says itis a real treat to spend time with the girls each week!
“I love that as an ECE I can help foster a child’s eagerness to explore and spark their curiosity of the world around them.” – Carla
