The Business Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in contributing to our proposal strategy and market research initiatives. Their contributions will be essential to securing new business and broadening our client base. At the heart of our growth strategy, the specialist will lead research efforts, develop technical proposals, and equip the team with the insights needed to make informed, data driven decisions.

"Business Development Specialist" Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market, client and competitor research to identify and evaluate new business opportunities.
• Analyze industry trends and data to support strategic planning and opportunity targeting.
• Write, edit, and format high-quality technical proposals, RFP responses, and capability statements.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical content and ensure proposal accuracy.
• Manage proposal timelines, submission schedules, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a library of proposal templates, case studies, and supporting materials.
• Track and report on proposal outcomes and business development metrics.

"Business Development Specialist" Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in proposal writing, business development, or research.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for data-informed strategy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
• This position will require some travel, a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle is mandatory.

Preferred:

• Advanced credentials or professional certifications relevant to technical writing, and strategic communication.
• A strong understanding of the inner workings of government — including procurement processes, regulatory frameworks, funding mechanisms and decision-making processes.
• Experience in working with municipal, provincial, or federal agencies is an asset.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are now accepting applications for its Cadet Training Program to start in January 2026.

The RNC Cadet Training Program selection process involves nine stages, including written, oral, and physical components.

Cadets will train at the Atlantic Police Academy in Prince Edward Island.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates may be assigned to serve in any RNC jurisdiction.
