Academy Canada Webmaster Featured On Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s “Respecting The Game” Series

Academy Canada is pleased to announce that our Webmaster and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Jack Barrett, is featured in Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s upcoming “Respecting The Game” series.

“Respecting The Game: The Story of Jackie Barrett” is a story about Jack Barrett’s journey to becoming one of the greatest Special Olympics Athletes of all time, from a difficult decision his parents faced at four years of age to put him in an institution or take a risk in raising him and hope for the best; to using the transformative power of sport to defy one medical odd and societal barrier after another to get a University Degree and competing for Canada at the Special Olympics World Games four times as a Powerlifter, winning 15 medals and setting numerous Special Olympics and mainstream Powerlifting records along the way.

“Respecting The Game” is part of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s “Beyond The Win” series, a groundbreaking free education program designed to teach young Canadians about the adversity and challenges athletes and builders faced on their journeys to becoming sports heroes, legends, and “Hall of Famers”. Designed to empower youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12, the comprehensive program celebrates the richness of diversity, fosters equity, and champions inclusion through the inspiring journey of exceptional role models.
